Weird Al, the Legend, the Man

Weird: The Al Yankovic Story, is a delightful parody of the life of Al Yankovic.

I watched this movie last night. It is great humor done without a whiff of woke politics. Daniel Radcliffe shines as Weird Al, as does Evan Rachel Wood as Madonna.

Weird Al has been delighting audiences for years with his parody songs. But now, with the release of Weird: The Al Yankovic Story, we finally get to know all of the interesting and. frankly, sordid details of the life (and death) of Al Yankovic. For instance, did you know . . .

. . . that Weird was an accordion playing sex-symbol in high school;

. . . that Weird Al wrote the song Eat It as an original composition. It was only later that Al’s song was parodied by Michael Jackson in Beat It;

. . . that Weird Al wrote Amish Paradise based on his father’s life;

. . . that Weird Al was seduced by Madonna so that Al would write Like a Surgeon;

. . . that Madonna has zero marksmanship skills.  Truly bad. Like Imperial-Soldiers-on-the-Death Star bad.

I recommend this movie highly. It’s on the Roku Channel.

And now for a bonus . . .
